Air Ambulance |
Finally, the tiresome weather pattern that has plagued the UK since early November appears to have been dislodged and we are relieved to see that the sky is still blue when the clouds disperse (14th Jan). It is unusual to see the regional air ambulance land on our lunchtime walk, indeed on this unique occasion it collected a youngster in need of urgent medical care and headed off towards Manchester (Weds 13th).

Snowy Pendle
It's Friday 15th January and the forecast suggests rain in the afternoon, so I turn the day on its head and go for an early walk up Pendle. We started walking before the sunrise at 07:48hrs.

Shower clouds to the south-west are illuminated by the rising sun.
Sunrise
Planning: it takes 20 minutes from home to the parking spot and up to 30 minutes to get to the top. So, leaving home on time, it was just as expected to be at the top at sunrise.

Descent Route
Rather slippy in places on the way down, as you might expect. Local photographer, Laura Bradshaw was not far away and she took the following photograph from Black Moss - Pendle Hill, always best in white!
